Free Pest Identification Service

 We offer a free Insect Pest Identification service to bona fide customers and members of the public.

We have a team of well-qualified Biologists and Zoologists who enjoy practicing their identification skills.

The scheme is subject to the following conditions:

• Tiny insects and mites should be caught on a strip of Sellotape and stuck to a piece of white paper or card.  This should be put in an old CD cover or similar.

• Samples of larger problem pests like beetles should be caught and put in a sample container like a 35mm plastic film carton.

• The sample should be accompanied by your name and telephone number. If you are an existing client, please include your address.

• Once a loose pest in an envelope has been through a franking machine at the post office, there not much left that’s easily identifiable so please make sure it is properly protected.

One of our Biologists will have a look when they get the opportunity and will telephone you, telling you whether it is a pest or not and what the options are when dealing with it.

All pests are just animals in the wrong place. Don’t panic unnecessarily and phone up chasing results. We usually get round to ID within a few days.
