More detailed information about what we do and the way we deal with Deer, Geese & Rabbit problems is given below

Pest Fencing Services

These can range from fencing to exclude rabbits from areas of planting to fencing to attenuate noise from railways and tramlines.

Many pest problems can be managed by erecting barriers to exclude them or contain them.

Canada Geese nuisances can be reduced by controlling their access to open water.

Deer related road accidents can be reduced by guiding them towards safer crossing points. Deer can be kept in or out with perimeter fencing

Rabbit damage to ornamental planting, specimen trees and shrubs can be reduced by erecting low-level fencing.

Public access to controlled areas, noise from machinery and railway lines, litter from refuse transfer stations, all can be reduced using our fencing solutions.

The fencing itself can contribute to the environment. There is no reason why a fence shouldn’t be both architecturally interesting and blend into the local environment.

The posts in the fence illustrated incorporate nesting boxes for Tits and Robins under the cap plates. Since they are steel, this makes the nests predator proof!

The fences are made in our workshops and tailored to suit the problem and the site.

Simply, the gap in the fence is flared like a funnel so that any deer crossing the road will be directed towards the gap. The fence is clear of potential cover throughout it’s length, except at the point where the crossing is. This discourages deer from attempting to jump the fence, or cross the road away from the gap, and encourages them to cross quickly in a straight line at the gap. "S " is the stopping distance of a vehicle. This is composed of the thinking distance and breaking distance. These both depend on the speed at which vehicle is travelling and the type of vehicle. This should be set at the stopping distance for a lorry driving at the speed limit in wet weather.  Deer warning signs should be positioned well before the region of road with the crossing.

Driving at night tips:

Slow down and prepare to stop as soon as you see a deer, the slower you are going, the better your options.

When you see one deer, be aware that there are likely to be others nearby. Deer travel in small groups and others may suddenly cross the road to join the one you can see.

Be extra careful in the hours around dawn and dusk. Deer often move about at these times in search of cover and food and lie up during the day.
